We would like to introduce you to our landscape design, installation, and consulting services which can increase the aesthetics and value of your home and property for years to come. Charles Boyd, owner and operator, started WNC Landscaping over 50 years ago.

Charles, a graduate of NC State University with a B.S. and M.S. in Horticulture and Education taught Horticulture at the high school and community college level but never wanted to let go of the practical, hands-on work with the practice.  He always wanted his students and the community to know that he could and does “walk-the-walk” and “talk-the-talk.” Over the years,

Charles has maintained his professional landscape contractors license and is one of only a few in the area with a professional degree, work experience and licensing. Charles retired from teaching in 2002 and has since served on the Board of Directors for Haywood Community College, served on the North Carolina State Cooperative Extension Service Advisory Board and lobbied on their behalf with the North Carolina State Legislature and with United States Congressional members, and has been elected and currently serves with Haywood County Soil and Water Conservation.  Charles’ wife, Linda, manages the office and bookkeeping for the business.

After relocating from Hendersonville to his family farm in Waynesville, NC, Charles grew the business over the years with the help of his sons, Woody and Brian. Following in his Father’s footsteps, both sons also graduated from NC State University. Woody provides technical service for the business while daughter Amy, a Peace College graduate, aids in business marketing.  

Brian Boyd returned home to Waynesville in 2001 and joined his father as an additional landscape designer. Brian expanded the business with his knowledge and talent with waterfall and pond design and installation as well as with full design and implementation of irrigation systems. Currently Brian is one of only a few certified irrigation specialist in western North Carolina. Brian also grown North Carolina certified Fraser Fir Christmas trees on the family farm and offers them for sale from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve each year.  His trees are cut fresh but he also offers choose ‘n cut options, as well as being one of the only distributors of dug Christmas trees in and around Waynesville, NC and most of western North Carolina.

Our service provides free on-site estimates in your area. Computer imagery is also available to our clients in order to view the completed project before work begins.
